Ryogoku Edo Noren is the 1929 Ryogoku station building, reopened in 2016 as a food hall arranged around a full-size raised sumo ring. About a dozen counters serve old Tokyo dishes under one roof, from chanko nabe and monjayaki to fukagawa-meshi clam rice.

Insider tip
It's the simplest place in Ryogoku to try chanko nabe without a reservation. It's attached to the JR station, so it works as a meal on the way to or from the stadium.

The streets around the station are full of chanko restaurants, several of them run by former wrestlers.
