Tokyo Toyosu Manyo Club is the onsen complex next to Toyosu Market, open 24 hours. The water is trucked in by tanker from the hot springs of Hakone and Yugawara, the outdoor bath looks out over Tokyo Bay, and there's a rooftop footbath garden with a view right round the waterfront. Come after the morning tuna at the market.

Insider tip

Adults pay ¥3,850 including a yukata and towels, plus ¥150 bath tax, or ¥2,200 for a morning soak between 5am and 9am. Tattoos are refused unless two of their cover stickers (11 by 20 cm, ¥110 each at the front desk) hide them, and you keep them on everywhere in the building. Credit cards are accepted.

The water is often the selling point, but read the small print. Spa LaQua and Tokyo Somei Onsen Sakura pump their own springs. Thermae-yu trucks its water in from Naka-Izu, and the Toyosu Manyo Club brings its from Hakone and Yugawara by tanker. They're also stricter about tattoos and young children. Spa LaQua turns away under-6s, and Somei Onsen Sakura won't let them use the baths.

An immersive walk-through show of more than 200 original sketches by Tim Burton, plus sculptures and props from films such as Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The layout is a maze, so you pick your own route. A visit takes about 60 minutes and tickets are for timed entry.
