Sasazuka Station is the Keio Line station at the heart of Sasazuka, the unglamorous west-side neighbourhood that is Daniel's own corner of Tokyo. Use it as your way into everyday Tokyo: shotengai shopping streets, standing bars and local life.

Insider tip

It's about five minutes from Shinjuku on the Keio Line. The shopping streets north and south of the station are full of cheap, excellent food. Mil Tacos and Sushi Sumibi are minutes away.

Daniel's stop on the Keio Line

Sasazuka is Daniel's Tokyo neighbourhood, one stop from Shinjuku on the Keio Line and nowhere near the tourist map. It's an ordinary, brilliant slice of residential Tokyo. There's a station mall, a shotengai, standing sushi you'll queue for, and Mil Tacos, the tiny taco joint where he held his wedding dinner. No neighbourhood on this site carries more weight.

Sasazuka has 5 places on the Roam Tokyo map: 2 restaurants, 1 bar, 1 landmark and 1 bathhouse. Read the Sasazuka guide.
