Tokyo Skytree is the tallest broadcast tower in the world at 634m. On clear winter days you can see Mt Fuji to the southwest. The Tembo Deck at 350m and the Tembo Galleria at 450m give you two very different scales of view.

Insider tip
Book online and skip the queue. A cold, clear weekday morning is your best shot at Fuji. The mall underneath has very good food.
What the guides say about Tokyo Skytree
The parade ends late in the afternoon, so you've got the evening for the rest of Asakusa. Walk up to Senso-ji as the lights come on, cross the river for the view of Tokyo Skytree from Sumida Park, or head south to Kuramae for coffee and craft shops. The Asakusa neighbourhood guide has the full picture.
Asakusa View Hotel is the hotel tower on Kokusai-dori at 3-17-1 Nishi-Asakusa, run by Viewhotels. It's the full-service option in the district rather than a business chain, and the pick for families and anyone who wants to eat and drink in the building, since the streets outside go quiet early. Tokyo Skytree is across the river to the east.
Asakusa has more old Tokyo atmosphere than anywhere else in the city. Senso-ji anchors the neighbourhood, Nakamise feeds into it, and the backstreets west of the temple still feel like a city that predates the neon. The Sumida River is a few minutes' walk east, with Tokyo Skytree on the far bank.

Around Asakusa
Old Tokyo's front door, best before the tour buses arrive
Asakusa gets dismissed as touristy, and at 2pm on a Saturday it is. Go at 7am instead. Senso-ji with incense drifting and almost nobody around is a different place entirely, and the backstreets west of the temple still feel like the shitamachi Tokyo that most of the city paved over decades ago.
Asakusa has 14 places on the Roam Tokyo map: 3 shrines and temples, 3 bathhouses, 2 viewpoints, 2 bars, 2 shops, 1 park or garden and 1 restaurant. Read the Asakusa guide.
