Festival Sengakuji Winter Gishi-sai (Ako Roshi Memorial Festival) 12 to 14 Dec · Takanawa Sengakuji holds its winter memorial festival for the forty-seven Ako loyalists around the anniversary of their 1702 raid, with sutra readings at the graves and a tea ceremony in the main hall. Market Hagoita Ichi (Battledore Fair) at Sensoji 17 to 19 Dec · Asakusa Stalls fill the temple grounds selling ornamental hagoita paddles decorated with kabuki figures, current celebrities and topical designs, alongside daruma dolls and festive food. Anime and games Jump Festa 2027 19 to 20 Dec · Makuhari Shueisha's yearly festival for Weekly Shonen Jump takes over most of Makuhari Messe with stages and booths for Jump's manga, anime and games. Entry is free but by advance application only: everyone from primary school age up needs an electronic ticket in the Jump NAVI app.
